Dear audience,

after we had started work on our new play “Hoppla, wir spielen noch” (Oops, we’re still playing) in September of this year under great uncertainty, we were about to have our big premiere this week. We had decided in the ensemble to perform the play under increased safety and hygiene conditions despite the adverse circumstances. But the virus does not want us to play.

This morning we were told that one of our ensemble members tested positive for the Corona virus. We will not be able to recast the roles this ensemble member is playing until the scheduled premiere. Furthermore, for the protection of all members of THEATER DER KLÄNGE and our valued audience, we take the situation very seriously and have decided with a heavy heart to cancel the premiere and all scheduled subsequent performances for the time being – health clearly comes first.

We regret this decision, which is the first time for us, even after more than 30 years, that we have had to cancel a premiere series. However, the special circumstances do not allow us any alternative for this time. Since our ensemble has been fully vaccinated and we have invested in air purifiers and other measures to combat the pandemic in our rehearsal rooms at an early stage, we are hoping at this point that the rest of the ensemble will be spared the infection and that we will be able to schedule a follow-up series of performances at a suitable date. Audience members who have already purchased tickets are asked to contact the artistic operations office of THEATER DER KLÄNGE by phone or email. We are currently working on an alternative plan and will then discuss further steps.

As soon as we have new information, we will contact you with a newsletter.
